Chilli Meatball Recipe

Here's a delicius chilli meatball recipe. A simple way to make your own meatballs with very few ingredients. Here I've kept the meatball mixture plain and served them in a tomato, garlic and chilli sauce.

You can add extra garlic, chilli and seasoning to suit your taste.

Ingredients: Meatballs

  • 500g lean minced beef
  • 2x tbsp oil
  • 1x egg
  • 1tblsp flour
  • 2 tsp mixed herbs

Ingredients: Tomato Chilli Sauce

  • 1x large onion, thinly sliced
  • Garlic: 2 to 4 cloves
  • 1x green or red fresh chilli
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes

Method

  1. Mix mince, flour, herbs and egg in a large bowl
  2. Shape mince mixture into table tennis ball sized meatballs
  3. Fry the meatballs gently to seal and brown them off
  4. Remove meatballs from pan and drain on kitchen paper
  5. Fry the sliced onions and garlic for a few minutes 'till golden
  6. Add tomatoes and chilli and simmer for 10 mins
  7. Add the meatballs back to the pan and cook covered for 20 mins

Serving Suggestion

Your chilli meatballs can be served with spaghetti or noodles. Warm crusty bread would also be an ideal choice too.

Once cook I added my chilli meatballs to a fresh dough pizza base, sprinkled the pizza with grated cheese and popped it in the oven for 10 minutes.

Tasty spicy meatball pizza.
